The system behind the service

Design system

One set of tokens and components, tuned for people who may be older, tired, or using assistive tech. Everything here is built to stay legible at 125% text and in high-contrast mode — try the controls at the top of the page.

Colour

Navy carries authority and calm; orange is reserved for the one action we want a person to take on each screen. Status colours never rely on hue alone — they always pair with an icon or label.

Typography

Fraunces, a warm high-legibility serif, carries headings and numbers so the service reads as human rather than clinical. Public Sans handles everything a person has to read carefully — forms, notes, plan balances — because it was drawn for exactly that.

Buttons

One primary action per screen. Orange is the primary; navy is the confirming action inside cards; outline is secondary. Every button keeps its verb from click to confirmation.

Form controls

Large targets, visible labels, and a focus ring that never disappears. Selected states use fill and border together, not colour alone.

Badges & status

Verification badges are the trust currency of the platform. Each pairs a tick or label with its colour so meaning survives in greyscale and high-contrast mode.

Accessibility

The ease bar sits above every page. Text scales to 112.5% and 125% through a rem cascade, and the setting follows the person across the whole flow. High-contrast mode swaps to pure-black text, 2px borders, and darker action colours that clear WCAG AAA.
